NEW YORK — Having Jordan Montgomery take the bump for the Yankees seemed like a great plan. Coming off a very strong outing last time around, Gumby looked to keep the win streak going. Unfortunately, not everything had gone as planned. Going only 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs, Montgomery put New York in a hole they were unable to dig out of. The offense wasn’t great either, with only 3 runs coming in all due to Ronald Torreyes. There was never a spark in the lineup and the Yanks just couldn’t string together the hits to pull it off, losing 5-3 and ending the win streak.
